Legislative Advocacy

A description of WaCASA's legislative advocacy

Are you already a CASA volunteer but want to do more to help abused and neglected children on a statewide scale? Are you interested in CASA's mission, but aren't able to make the time commitment to become a CASA volunteer? Are you interested in the government and want to learn more and become a more active Washingtonian? Then consider becoming a Legislative Partner!

Legislative Partners are people who are:

  • Involved with CASA or a CASA program
  • Interested in how the state legislature effects abused and neglected children
  • Aware of the need to provide representation of abused and neglected children at the state level
  • Active community members who want to make a lasting and positive difference for the over 14,000 foster children in Washington

Last year, over 150 legislative partners contacted lawmakers from their communities to talk about the work that CASA does for abused and neglected children.

Currently, there are several legislative districts without a legislative partner. If you have stories about your experience as a CASA volunteer, please consider bringing your voice for children to the state legislature.
